Waste Reduction and Diversion Plan
The City of Saskatoon is updating its Solid Waste Reduction and Diversion Plan to guide waste reduction, diversion, and landfill management efforts over the next decade. The original plan, approved in 2021, established a series of actions to reduce waste and increase diversion. With many of these actions now completed or underway, the City is now looking to identify the next set of waste reduction and diversion actions to conserve resources, minimize greenhouse gas emissions, optimize landfill operations and create local reuse and recycling opportunities that benefit the community.
Phases
City of Saskatoon Staff Survey (Internal Only)
Many City departments support waste reduction and diversion through planning, operations, procurement, facilities management, construction projects, asset management, and policy development. City of Saskatoon staff are invited to complete our online survey to help:
- Identify how waste-related initiatives impact your department.
- Identify challenges and opportunities for collaboration.
- Generate ideas for future waste reduction and diversion efforts.
- Identify departments interested in further discussions as part of the plan update.
- Identify ways we can help further your waste diversion and reduction efforts.
The survey will be available until October 2, 2026 and should take approximately seven minutes to complete. To complete the survey you can either sign-up for GoVocal using your work email or provide your work email and name when prompted. Please do not use the "Continue with City of Saskatoon Employee Log in". If you have issues accessing the survey please email us.
*Please note that this survey is not available to the public, but a community survey will be available in the near future.
