Holiday Park and King George - Traffic Calming
The City of Saskatoon is reviewing traffic calming measures for Avenue I South and Avenue J South from 11th Street West to 12th Street West.

Neighbourhood engagement
Open House - June 25, 2025
On June 25, 2025, a public open house was held to discuss traffic calming options for the 1000 Block of Avenue I South and Avenue J South. A survey was provided to residents within the applicable area, to determine their traffic calming preference.
Neighbourhood Survey
A survey was available from June 25 - July 15, 2025. Paper copies of the survey were available at the Open House.
Results of the survey were as follows:
- 4 out of 40 households responded.
- 3 responses supported a northbound closure on Avenue I South.
- 1 response supported a southbound closure on Avenue I South and northbound closure on Avenue J South.
Based on the results of the survey, a northbound closure on Avenue I South is recommended, (as shown below). The closure will be installed temporarily via rubber curbs and the mid-block pinch point will be removed. These changes are anticipated to take place this fall. The closure is expected to be in place for a minimum of one year to assess its effectiveness. If the closure is found to be effective, it will be installed permanently in concrete, as funding allows.
