Development Levy Bylaw

As Saskatoon grows and changes, new development can create additional demand for infrastructure such as roads, utilities, parks, and other civic services. The City is establishing a Development Levy Bylaw to provide a tool for recovering applicable growth-related infrastructure costs, supporting the principle that growth should contribute toward the infrastructure needed to support it.

The proposed bylaw would establish a new tool for recovering eligible growth-related capital costs for infrastructure in situations where existing tools do not apply. This will help create a level playing field for development, ensuring those costs are shared fairly among developments that benefit from the investments.

Note that the project will be applicable only to areas where Servicing Agreement Fees would otherwise be payable if subdivision were occurring.
