Link - 1st Avenue Design
Link is key to meeting the challenges of Saskatoon’s future, by providing an important, more efficient bus service along a fixed route. Local, neighborhood bus routes will feed into the three main Link lines to create a new city-wide transit system.
1st Avenue is a key part of the Link system routing. We anticipate a high number of riders in this central area where all three Link lines will travel. The new 1st Avenue designs are an exciting move forward for the system and we are excited to share them with Saskatoon.

Phases
Design Presented to City Council
At the City Council Regular Business Meeting on April 29, Council directed Administration to report back with preliminary, high‑level operations plans for the 1st Avenue Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor. Administration will report back to Council in Fall 2026, providing more information on traffic accommodation measures during mechanical breakdowns, as well as how emergency vehicles would access and move through the corridor to maintain traffic flow and ensure emergency services are not delayed. Information will also be shared with Council on further discussions conducted with businesses and property owners in the area.
